From a young age, I often struggled to find spaces where I felt genuinely accepted. As a neurodivergent 2SLGBTQIA+ person navigating both mental and physical health challenges and surviving gender-based violence, I faced significant judgment and isolation. In an effort to fit in, I learned to hide my differences and suppress my needs, which led to feelings of shame, exhaustion, and a sense of disconnect from their true self. Things began to shift when I discovered art as a form of self-expression. Through creativity, I gently reawakened forgotten parts of who I was, igniting a profound passion for nurturing others through transformative processes of healing.
As a therapist in training, I am deeply committed to supporting clients in processing shame and embracing their authentic selves. I believe everyone deserves to feel at home in who they are, and that creativity can be a powerful force for personal growth. I have experience guiding individuals through challenges related to identity, self-esteem, relationships, body image, life transitions, and more. I specialize in working with Autistic individuals, members of the disability community, 2SLGBTQIA+ folks, and survivors of gender-based violence. With a nuanced understanding of the complexities that come with marginalized identities, I provide care that is not only culturally sensitive but also empowering. My approach is grounded in humanistic and feminist principles, ensuring a nonjudgmental space where clients can grow with curiosity and self-compassion. Through art, conversation, or a blend of both, I am dedicated to meeting you where you are and uplifting you in your healing journey with empathy and respect.
I am currently pursuing a Master’s-level dual diploma in Art Therapy and Expressive Arts Therapy at the Winnipeg Holistic Expressive Arts Therapy (WHEAT) Institute, working toward becoming a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). My academic background also includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, along with psychology studies at Athabasca University and Dalhousie University. Professionally, I bring a diverse skill set to therapy, including experience in education, communications, and counselling, especially concerning gender-based violence and human trafficking. In and out of therapy, I practice ‘artivism’ by using experimental video, photography, sculpture, and collage to challenge systems of power and spark dialogue for social change. I also enjoy reading with my book club, thrifting for hidden gems, building LEGO creations, and roller skating.
I seek to offer a gentle space where individuals of all ages can journey toward healing, growth, and self-discovery. Together, we’ll move toward the wellness that’s uniquely yours!
