    Workshops

Hannah O’Reilly is a Registered Psychotherapist who places an emphasis on, and sees the value in, transferring mental health knowledge and its resulting practical skills to the community at large. As such, she offers engaging, compassionate, and practical workshops for schools, community groups, parents, and organizations focused on children’s and youth mental health. With a warm, relational style and a deep respect for the lived experiences of young people and their families, Hannah creates learning spaces that are both informative and emotionally safe. Her workshops support youth themselves along with their caregivers, educators, and other helping professionals in better understanding the emotional worlds of children and adolescents, while providing concrete tools that can be used immediately in classrooms, homes, and community settings.

    Hannah’s workshop topics include:

    Understanding and supporting neurodivergence

    • Embracing a neuro-affirming, developmentally informed lens on symptoms of ADHD, sensory processing, emotional regulation, and communication, with practical strategies for creating environments as well as relationships that reduce overwhelm and increase belonging.

    Perfectionism and anxiety

    • Exploring how fear of failure, high self-expectations, and pressure impact learning and self-worth, and how adolescents and supportive adults in their lives can foster resilience, self-compassion, and realistic goal-setting.

    Interpersonal relationships

    • Helping youth learn skills for how to resolve any interpersonal conflict, set boundaries, express their feelings, and identify the difference between healthy and unhealthy relational styles. Based on the age group, it could entail looking specifically at peer dynamics (including bullying), family dynamics, and/or looking at dating relationships.
    • Helping adults recognize the emotional impact of social dynamics and respond in ways that promote a non-judgemental stance, security, empathy, and connection.

    Low self-esteem and emotional wellbeing

    • Supporting children and adolescents in developing a more secure sense of self and learning to navigate challenges, feelings of insecurity, and self-doubt.

    Queer and gender-diverse identity

    • Providing guidance on how to create affirming, inclusive spaces and respond with compassion and curiosity to the unique experiences of LGBTQ+ youth.

    Family challenges and transitions

    • Developing an understanding as to how separation, illness, state of the world crises, and intergenerational stress affect children and youth as well as learning how to respond in ways that support attachment, resiliency, and emotional security.

    Body image and eating

    • Helping youth and the adults in their lives develop a clear understanding as to what contributes to poor body image and how body image can impact many other facets of life. Developing practical skills and tools for youth to use to change their relationship with the way in which they perceive their bodies and appearance.

Whether facilitating interactive workshops for youth themselves or professional development for school staff, parent education evenings, or community-based trainings, Hannah balances clinical knowledge with accessible language, real-world examples, and interactive discussion. Her approach is grounded, compassionate, and validating, while also equipping those who attend with practical strategies they can confidently apply. Hannah is passionate about supporting youth as well as the adults in children and youth’s lives to feel more attuned, informed, and empowered in nurturing mental health, resilience, and a strong sense of self in every child.
