Heather Anderson, Clinical Psychologist. Founder of Grounded Psychology

Heather Anderson is a clinical psychologist who works with individuals, couples, and families dealing with a range of mental health difficulties. In addition to treating mood (i.e., depression, dysthymia), anxiety (i.e., GAD, Panic, and phobias), behavioural difficulties (e.g., anger, impulsivity), and addiction. Heather also has extensive experience in helping clients with relationship issues, adjustment difficulties, and navigating life transitions. She will work with you to develop a treatment plan that is tailored to your own individual needs, with the goal of increasing your quality of life and functioning.
Heather has worked in a variety of private practice, community, school, and hospital-based settings with adults dealing with a range of difficulties. She has been trained in Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy, in addition to utilizing theory and techniques from a number of theoretical orientations.
Heather also offers psychological and psychoeducational assessments for educational and vocational planning purposes, implementing appropriate accommodations in school and work-place settings, and providing and supporting mental health diagnoses.
Heather received her B.A. in psychology from Stanford University and her M.Ed in Counselling Psychology from the University of Alberta. She continues to stay current in the latest research and theories to support her work with clients.
