Hi, I’m Sarah Stilling, Registered Psychotherapist.

My journey toward becoming a therapist began in my teenage years, watching someone close to me struggle deeply with depression. At the time, I remember feeling helpless, wanting so badly to support them, but not knowing how or what to say. That experience stayed with me and shaped my desire to become someone who could sit with pain, offer understanding, and provide meaningful support. It led me to want to be a source of care not only for individuals who are struggling, but also for those who love them. From early on, I felt drawn to the idea of having a tangible, compassionate impact on others’ lives, and to creating spaces where vulnerability is met with safety, connection, and hope.

In my clinical work, I support individuals aged 16 and older navigating anxiety, panic disorder, stress, burnout, ADHD, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), rumination, and eating-related concerns. My therapeutic approach focuses on helping clients understand what’s happening for them through psychoeducation, while building practical skills and setting realistic, step-by-step goals that support meaningful progress. I take a collaborative and flexible approach to therapy, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs, pace, and goals. I primarily draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and solution-focused approaches, while remaining curious and responsive to what works best for each individual. I believe therapy works best as a partnership, one that empowers clients to better understand themselves, strengthen coping skills, and develop tools that support meaningful and lasting change.

I completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Human Kinetics and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Ottawa. I completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology in 2022 and am a Registered Psychotherapist. I have completed Level 2 Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) training through Unified CBT Academy and remain committed to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice. At the core of my work is the therapeutic relationship, and I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space grounded in trust, empathy, and respect. My hope is that clients feel supported in showing up as they are, and empowered to move forward in a way that feels authentic and sustainable for them.
